Abstract

In this article, the French thinker Michel Montaigne, while writing "Les Essais" (Experiments), referred to the works of his predecessors, historians, and philosophers, his life experiences, and relied on many sources in the process of reflecting moral aspects in his work. In particular, it was determined that the author studied the works of foreign writers of that time, Latin and Greek, and through them he was able to clearly express his thoughts and attitudes.
